My 2023 Oregon/California Trails journey started in a downpour. I always wondered how I would handle an all day rain event on Silvia. Now I know. We battled rain for 9 hours, before it stopped for the last 3 hours.
My Frogg Toggs rain gear worked great but I tried every pair of gloves I had and they all leaked. My boots worked pretty well also. But my quest for good rain gloves continues.
I don't really have video of today because I had to concentrate on the highway. I was exhausted by the end of the day.
But stay tuned as tomorrow I reach the beginning of the Oregon Trail and Silvia and I start following the trail the following day.
Elevation Changes During the Day
The day started at 1,049 feet and ended at 526 feet. The highest altitude was 2,762 feet and the lowest altitude was 433 feet.
