I took this photo in July 1980. I remember it well because I was taught a huge lesson by my Dad and he never said a word to me about it. Most of the things I learned from my Dad involved few words. We talked freely but children watch what you do more than listen to what you say.

I read an online article recently about getting old and realized I have some thoughts on the subject. I don't consider myself old but since I am now receiving AARP mailings, I have a few things to say.

We Found a Camera and a Love Story in Death Valley

On June 26, 2011 my son Bradley found a Nikon Coolpix S220 point and shoot camera laying in a gravel road near Panamint Springs in Death Valley. It took us two years to find the owner. This is a very neat story.

My Brother and I Found a Very Ugly Horse

A cousin contacted me yesterday regarding our great great great grandfather William Ellington Bond. I had put together a Genealogy book for my family in 2005 and decided to look through it for information regarding our grandfather. I had forgotten about the following story I had included in the book.

Day 19, Black Hills of South Dakota

Laurie had never been to Mount Rushmore so we took US 16A through a couple of tunnels with grand views of Mount Rushmore. With no crowds this time of year we had no problems getting in and parking. Mount Rushmore was nice but we really enjoyed the Crazy Horse Memorial and spent several hours there. They have a very extensive museum.
