Today

Another great day in the American Southwest. After a great (healthy) breakfast at the School House Inn Bed and Breakfast, we headed to Silver City, NM where we then took NM 152 to Hillsboro, NM. I wanted to do this ride in 2017 but after riding AZ 191 (Devil's Highway) I was tired of curves. So that ride was delayed until today. It did not disappoint. Be sure to watch the video below.

Before Silver City we took a quick stop at the location of Geronimo's surrender. In a couple of days we will visit his grave site in Oklahoma.

Sometimes we like to try non chain motels. The Desert View Inn in Truth or Consequences, NM had great reviews on the net so we decided to give it a try. It was very nice. I don't think there were more than 10 rooms, but everything was clean and I slept well on the bed. The owner brought Laurie a real coffee mug and fresh ground coffee for the coffee maker in the room. There was a table and chairs just outside the room. We picked up salads from the local Wal Mart and enjoyed our meal in the shade watching the sunset. The temperature was very nice. It always amazes me how cool the desert nights are after sundown.
