Previous 40 to Phoenix Rides

In 2017 we had one day to get from Moriarty NM to Phoenix AZ. We now take two days.
Today
I had a few stops planned for today but we decided to take a more direct path to Springerville so Laurie could give her neck a break. The temperature dropped to 18 ° overnight in Moriarty so we opted for a late departure like a lot of folks. After clearing the snow from Silvia we departed and the day surprised us. It was wonderful with no winds, blue skies and moderate temperatures. Be sure to watch the video.
We took a cross country trip in the autumn of 2017 and the folks at the local NM campground told us about Frank and Lupee's restaurant in Socorro. We loved it. Today I realized we could eat there again so we did. It was great. Be sure to check out the 360 photo below. This place looks like a dump on the outside so we normally would have never stopped. But it is very nice on the inside and the food is great.
In 2017 we also stopped in Pie Town. We stopped today and Laurie really enjoyed it. We showed the owners photos we had taken there in 2017 and Laurie got a photo of them today. Apparently they just got married.
Tonight we are at the Rode Inn. I loved this place in 2018 and I love it tonight and so does Laurie. They serve a hot breakfast with gravy and biscuits. Ohhhhhhhh!
