Door to Under Couch Storage Area

The area under the couch is a great place to store large bulky items like sleeping bags, pillows, etc. But the latch used in the Wildcat is a pain to use. It is hard to line up the two parts of the latch and mine was soon bent out of shape and did not work.

I solved this by using 2 spring clips from Lowes that are designed to hold a broom handle in a closet. I mounted the spring clip on the inside of the door. I then mounted a dowel rod about the diameter of a broom handle under the couch. I drilled a hole through the center and used a long (3 inch) wood screw to attach the dowel rod to the wall. The dowel rod is about 1.5 inches long.

This works very well.
