Today at about 12:00PM I checked off the last thing on my list. There was nothing left to pack or do. I was ready. I had been working on that list and planning for this day since around Christmas. At 2:00PM a fellow GWRRA member showed up and we left for Wilmington.

Laurie followed in the car. She will spend the night with me in Wilmington, see me off in the morning and return home. The weather forecast today was for possible hail, high winds and rain. We travelled on wet roads but luckily avoided the rain.

There won't be much to blog about for the first 3-4 days. But just be patient. This trip will get much more interesting over around Oklahoma City when I start riding on Route 66.

This man has coordinated and led this ride for the past 7 years. Medical issues means he can't make the trip this year but he drove from Pennsylvania to give us final instructions and see us off.

I am in Group 1 with 4 other men. We pick up additional riders in Georgia and Oklahoma. These are three of my co riders. I warned them that I take a lot of photos and they are good with that. I like my co riders. They are laid back and really want everyone to "ride their own ride."
