|Weather:||Beautiful day, 57° this morning to high 70's|
Today was a long day with beautiful weather. This morning was just cool enough to plug in the electric jacket. My wife got it for me as a Christmas gift because she really wanted me to take this trip. But it has made a wimp out of me. Anything below 65° is now electric jacket weather.
We encountered a traffic accident that added close to an hour to our ride. Add 426 miles of riding to that and we were pretty tired when we pulled into the Days Inn in Conway, AR right at dinner time. The local GWRRA chapter had a cook out waiting for us. I don't know what they could have done differently to make us feel any more welcome. Plus no driving to dinner. It was a real treat.
Preparing to leave this morning.
One of my co riders lives in Texas and rode to Conyers, GA to meet us there, just to ride back through Texas to Phoenix. He is a fine fellow. When I saw what he had on his lower legs, I decided I need a pair. So my lovely wife, when you read this, look at the photo below and add that to my Christmas list.
The rest of these photos are from the cook out at the hotel.
The day started at 866 feet and ended at 656 feet. The highest altitude was 1,246 feet and the lowest altitude was 499 feet.
