Country School Memories From My Teacher

Nov 1, 2014 Sat0

To understand this story you have to read my previous blog on this subject I Walked to School in the Snow Up Hill Both Ways.

In March 2014 I had the great fortune to talk with my 1st grade teacher, Jimmy Jones for almost an hour on the phone. He remembered me and confirmed the many memories I have of my time in that little country school. I did not know that 1965-66 was his first year as a teacher.

He sent me some photos and a short narrative of his time at the Peddler Gap school so I will just include them here and let you enjoy. Be sure to read the other blog post I referenced above.
