Fun Along the North Platte River

Jun 27, 2012 Wed0

It does not feel like a western vacation until we cross the Mississippi River. Check, done that, now we are on a vacation.

I love the North Platte River because there is so much history along its banks. The Oregon and Mormon trails passed through here along with the Pony Express and the first railroads. I like to travel but it's hard to comprehend six plus months in a covered wagon crossing this country. You can see farther here than a wagon traveled in several days. Imagine looking at a mountain for several days as you advance toward it at 20 miles per day, instead of 75 miles per hour.

Tucker yelled for me to get a photo of him. We decided we would take photos like this all during the trip.
