The only way to get the full 2800 watts from my Honda generator is to use the 30 amp twist lock outlet. I have a setup that works well with my generator in the back of the truck.

However I wanted the ability to plug the Wildcat's RV plug directly into the Honda if I ever wanted to.

So with another trip to Lowes I purchased the plug, receptacle, box and short piece of 10 gauge cable.

The photo shows what I came up with. There are adaptors available at Home Depot and some RV parts places that have a standard 15 amp male plug and a molded plastic RV female connector. It has about 1 foot of cable. It would be easy to cut the male end off and replace it with the 30 amp male connector. However the cable is 14 gauge which is only rated for 15 amps. 10 gauge is rated for 30 amps.
