Wireless Thermometer

Base receiver inside the Wildcat near the thermostat.

I did not have much faith in the unit but I've been impressed. The 2 AA batteries in the remote are still going strong after 6 months and it transmits to the receiver every two minutes. The base receiver can communicate with up to 3 remotes and the base stores the MIN/MAX temperatures for each remote as well as the base.

I mounted the base near the thermostat inside the Wildcat and the remote on the outside near the front storage area.

Now with a glance I can check the inside and outside temperatures. I was so impressed with this toy that I went back to Home Depot and bought 2 more cheaper versions of the thermometer. The base receiver was not as nice and the remotes did not have a LCD to display the temperature at the remote, but the remotes worked with the base receiver I already have in the camper. They are all made by the same company. I did not need the additional base receivers, I just bought the units to get the remotes. This was cheaper than ordering the remotes by themselves. During the winter I placed the 2 extra remotes in various storage areas to determine how cold the areas got during 20 degree winter nights. I would reset the MIN/MAX stored values in the base receiver and the next morning I could check the coldest temperature that occurred during the night.

With warmer weather I am now using 2 of the remote units in the refrigerator and freezer to monitor temperatures.

These things are extremely accurate.
